About
Odoo Hackathon
Odoo India's hackathons are open challenge to all tech enthusiasts and a great tool for Odoo to hire best coders and designers to join Odoo India's growing team.
Odoo India’s hiring hackathon journey began in June 2024 with Odoo Combat, our first open recruitment hackathon, attracting over 3,000 students and discovering exceptional young developers. Encouraged by its success, Odoo India collaborated with leading universities to bring hackathons closer to emerging talent, transforming a simple idea into a nationwide hackathon series.
Today, Odoo India has replaced traditional campus placements with hiring hackathons.
Why hackathon is a best way to hire?
Skills; not CVs
Candidates show what they can build instead of just talking about it.
Fast & Salable
Thousands of candidates get assessed in just two hackathon rounds, not dragged out over months.
Team work shines!
Odoo recruiters witness how teams brainstorm, code, and solve problems together.
Chance to all!
With 50,000+ applications each year, traditional screening was tough. The hackathons made it fair, fun, and efficient to find the best talent.
The Purple Experience
Win-win for all!
Odoo partner companies also get to connect with some of the brightest talent in the country. Universities and students, all gets opportunities!
Open challenge:
Virtual Round: 8-hour online hackathon
Final Round: 24-hour on-site hackathon for shortlisted teams
No participation fees
Teams of 1 to 4 members (Age: 18+), with cross-institution teams allowed.
Problem statements are revealed only at the start hour to ensure fairness and creativity.
Once you register for any Odoo hackathon, cannot apply again for next 3 months for other Odoo hackathons.
What if you win?
- Winning the hackathon and receiving a job offer are two separate outcomes. You may win and still be ineligible for hiring based on criteria, and it’s equally possible to not rank in the top three teams yet get a call with employment opportunity.
- At Odoo, we hire for talent, mindset, and determination and not just project completion. We look for problem-solvers who think beyond the obvious and are ready to join the Purple Army.
